NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATE ...

On Thursday, 23rd July 2015, there is a sod breaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the construction of the new, £6 million, Primary School and Community Centre at Priors Hall Park, located in Corby, Northamptonshire. Guests included representatives from the Bela Partnership Ltd., Gotch Saunders and Surridge LLP (GSS), Watson & Cox (Construction) Ltd., Northamptonshire County Council, Corby Borough Council and Woodnewton Academy Trust.

Priors Hall Park is a new mixed community of 5000 new homes, within a parkland setting. The two-form entry Primary School will accommodate up to 420 children, and will be the first Primary School on the development. Additionally, the Community Centre will be located at the heart of the park; both projects are to serve the completed and future homes planned for Priors Hall Park. The scheme is due for completion in the summer of 2016. This complements the existing Norman Foster designed Academy, built by BeLa in 2009; to deliver a full spectrum of schooling within Priors Hall Park.

Bela Marketing director James Edwards said “The Primary School project is of major importance to us, as developers of Priors Hall Park, as it adds a further dimension for our residents and future residents with children. It is part of a continued multi-million pound investment to make Priors Hall Park the UK’s most successful large urban development, delivering 5000 much needed new homes.

GSS have been appointed as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors for the project. Partner Ian Bray said “GSS are delighted to be entrusted with managing the delivery of the first Primary School and Community Facility on this exciting and desirable urban expansion.”
