Walking Around Open Parkland & Forests At Priors Hall Park
Whether you’re into nature and bird watching or prefer a quiet amble through the woods, Priors Hall Park offers plenty of outside space for you to enjoy exactly as you wish – whenever you choose. With only half of the Park dedicated for housing; the rest is set aside for you (and the local wildlife) to enjoy.
Here at Priors Hall Park, we care passionately about the wildlife and are constantly trying to find ways of preserving the environment whilst creating a great place for you to live. Needless to say, with a 1200-acre site to look after, we’re constantly finding exciting and interesting wildlife and flowers, such as the Cinnabar Moth, the Bee Orchid and Wild Honeysuckle. If you keep a watchful eye out, you may be able to spot one of the red kites soaring high above The Park or discover various types of fish in the newly created lake.
One of the many unique aspects of Park Life is our attractive setting in extensive parkland. You can choose one of the many superb rural walks, with public footpaths leading through the rolling Northamptonshire countryside. Or you might like to pop over to Corby Boating Lake, which is a popular attraction not only for anglers but also those just wanting to enjoy the fresh air and tranquil environment.
Here at Priors Hall Park, we are perfecting the art of placemaking. Our vision has been to create a great place to live rather than simply building a mundane housing estate. The spaces between the houses are more important to us (we leave the building to our build partners such as Barratt and Taylor Wimpey) and we strive to provide features that can be enjoyed by our residents; now and far into the future.
As part of the natural landscape, we have created two large lakes at Priors Hall Park. The largest of the two is located in the South, at Weldon Lakes, is 8 acres and runs to a depth of 5 metres. This provides a natural water collection point for the whole of the central gulley of the Park and a habitat to amphibian wildlife. The Northern lake is a deliberate feature to add to the splendor of the Francis Jackson Homes site – Willowhurst. Nestled in woodland it will provide a great location for a picnic or a lazy afternoon in the sun.
The Amphitheatre in Town Gardens is a landscaping triumph and frames Priors Hall Park’s vision for communal spaces, amongst the houses, that can be enjoyed by all residents. This, added to the natural landscaping features, provide a back drop to enjoy the Park Life every day. We believe that building a large community is not just about housing, but about designing areas that can be used freely by its occupants – a garden city type experience, but more friendly and accessible.
